Colour Inspiration

This photo was taken by myself because I felt that the mistletoe connotes romantic imagery and is casually associated with love often, especially around the Christmas period. This intertwined with the chandelier makes it also appear very artistic. However, the colours are quite dull grey and white in the background which could be suggesting/foreshadowing something sinister or perhaps a lost love. The green of the mistletoe in the foreground on the other hand links love with nature, thus building a positive and romantic image.

I took this photo because I really liked the warmth in colours with these three objects together, the use of crimson red colours, yellows, golds and browns are reminiscent of a fire and could therefore connote passion, death etc.
This idea is fitting with my research as I intend to make a Thriller / Romantic genre film opening sequence and the colours in this photo have inspired me into thinking about a colour scheme for titles, costume etc...
